Posted by: Meg Cipar    Apr 15, 2019

Whether you're a NAHU member or not, this training session for our Partners will add another dimension to the information you'll gain by attending the UBA Spring Conference. UBA has made a special arrangement with NAHU to offer Partners a limited, discounted Medicare Certification Course that qualifies for CE credit.

If you were planning to attend the Conference, consider coming early to take in this half-day course. The program is a unique opportunity to prepare you to better serve your clients and will also get you one step closer to obtaining a Registered Employee Benefits Consultant® (REBC) designation. UBA scheduled this conveniently for Partners, one day prior to the start of the UBA Spring Conference and Expo, so participants could take advantage of travel to attend the conference.  Participation signifies to NAHU that UBA can support future educational opportunities, which is fundamental to advisors looking to help clients navigate major legislative change and to stay ahead of the competition. Make sure you carefully consider this opportunity as reservations are limited.

The Medicare Certification Course for UBA will be Sunday, May 5, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The course, taught by a NAHU Certified Instructor, will provide an intermediate level introduction of Medicare and its history since its introduction in 1965, aimed at helping you better understand the complexities of the senior health market and the details of the various Medicare-related products that are now available. There will be discussion covering the origins and original intent of Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid, and go on to review some of the major legislation and recent changes that have shaped the products we sell today. The discussion then turns to the current market as well as what the system could look like in the future, and closes with an explanation of how agents can best serve their clients as they navigate the Medicare maze. Course highlights:

  • Introduction to Medicare insurance
  • The future of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
  • Medicare Part A and Part B in depth
  • Medicare Advantage and Part D in depth
  • SNPs, dual eligible and getting additional help
  • Selling Medicare-related products
