Meeting Recap
In the meantime, if you were not able to attend the UBA Fall Meeting & Expo—or if you did attend, but need a refresher—Sun Life (a meeting sponsor and UBA’s 2016 Strategic Partner of the Year) delivered presentations regarding the Stop-Loss Coalition and shared the Self-Funded Playbook, the Stop-Loss Research Report, and Stop-Loss Benchmark. Sun Life highlighted some new tools and resources that Partners can use when talking to their clients about stop-loss and self-funding. Sun Life also highlighted the success of the UBA Stop-Loss Coalition, which is exclusively offered to UBA Partner Firms. Self-Funded Playbook
Sun Life’s Self-Funded Playbook is a helpful guide that provides an end-to-end overview of the self-funding process. It covers deciding whether to self-fund, selecting a claims administrator, and choosing stop-loss insurance. You can download the playbook here. The Self-Funded Playbook provides guidance for employers to help them make key decisions related to funding arrangements, claims administration, and stop-loss insurance. It even includes an action plan so the employer can pick and choose the next steps that make sense for its particular business.
