UBA PowerPak Realignment

Posted by: Meg Cipar    May 1, 2018

We are pleased to announce the PowerPak realignment in keeping with the 2018 UBA strategic plan initiative to realign the PowerPaks to maximize the UBA value proposition for Partner Firms by facilitating collaboration.

uba-logo-smallOur goal was to utilize a Partner-driven task force to group UBA Partners into new strategic PowerPaks, develop a process for formal agenda setting, gather feedback after tri-annual PowerPak meetings, and provide reports to the Partnership on best practices. We apologize for the delay in releasing the information, but are hopeful you will enjoy the ability to connect with new Partners across UBA at the upcoming Spring Conference.

This strategic initiative is a result of the Principal Survey feedback and guidance from our legal counsel as it relates to anti-trust regulation. Our Partners expressed a desire to change PowerPak rosters in order to share wisdom with more people, including new faces. We also had at least one, if not two, PowerPaks that regularly declined to meet, to the detriment of the whole organization. The realignment attempted to ensure that members of a PowerPak are not from the same market and do not share unique books of business (for example, those working primarily in school districts). The reorganization should address all the concerns that were raised and implement all the suggestions brought forward.

With the additional time devoted to PowerPaks at the Spring Conference next week, we hope you are able to get to know your new group and select a PowerPak leader who will be charged with setting agenda, reporting back to the greater Partnership, and taking attendance at meetings. It is our hope going forward that Partners who have not participated in PowerPaks will be inclined to do so.

We wish to thank Chance Potts, Paul Rooney, Keith McNeil, Jim Mallia, Mike Radakovich, and Brent Matthews, all who volunteered their efforts to guide the PowerPak reorganization process and implementation.
