Compliance Advisors Updated

The Compliance Team has published the January Compliance Recap, a new Advisor, and updated three Advisors to reflect recent changes in regulations. All Advisors are available for download from AdEase.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released a proposed rule for benefit payment and parameters for 2021. The proposed rule is intended to reduce fiscal and regulatory burdens associated with the ACA across different program areas and to provide stakeholders with greater flexibility. Our Advisor Proposed 2021 Benefit Payment and Parameters Rule addresses the impact on employer-sponsored group health plans. This new Advisor has been emailed out to all Partners.

Nondiscrimination Rules for Cafeteria Plans has been updated to add the 2020 annual compensation amounts in the definition of key employees.

The Highlights of the SBC Requirement and SBC FAQ Advisors have been revised with updated hyperlinks to the sample SBC, SBC instructions and glossary.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced another extension of its "grandmothered plans" nonenforcement policy until December 31, 2021. Our Advisor Option for Some to Renew Policies That Do Not Fully Meet ACA Standards was emailed to all Partners and includes information about this new extension.

The January Compliance Recap was sent to all Partners and provides a summary of key benefits compliance activities last month.
