His discussion will focus on the current state of repealing and replacing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), the likelihood of corporate and individual tax reform, how federal paid family leave could become a reality, and other important issues.

For over a decade, James Slotnick has helped employee benefit brokers, financial advisors, and the end-consumer understand the ever-changing insurance industry. Leveraging his sales and legal backgrounds, James is able to break down complex insurance topics into understandable concepts that help both brokers and end-consumers make informed decisions. Most recently, he has been providing education about the impact that health care reform will have on the employee benefits industry. James also frequently speaks about the legislative climate in Washington, Social Security Disability planning, disability plan design, and income tax planning.

From 2002 to 2012, James held numerous sales and management roles at Sun Life Financial. After leaving Sun Life in 2012, James became a Director for Prudential Annuities' Advanced Planning Team. James returned to Sun Life in 2013 to become AVP of Advanced Markets and Broker Education. James holds a BA from Saint Anselm College, an MBA from Suffolk University's Sawyer School of Management, and a JD from Suffolk University Law School. He is an active member of the Massachusetts Bar.

James lives in Westwood, Massachusetts with his wife, Julie, and two children, Hannah and Henry.
